This entry way had great details with it’s wainscotting and mouldings, but was very boring.  We livened it up with a turquoise and white graphic wallpaper on the top third of the wall.  Working with my client’s antique desk, which is used as a console table here, we added in a tiny cube that can be pulled out to remove or put on boots/shoes, then tucked out of the way, in this small space entry.  A distressed octagon shaped mirror is perfect against the wallpaper and lets everyone have one more quick look before heading out the door.  A little tray for catching keys, sunglasses, etc and a few decorative items and this entrance is complete.

Landing / Loft Transformation

This little landing was feeling a little cold and my client wanted it to feel cozy and warm just like her inherited treasures.  And now it does! It is also the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of tea and a magazine.

Fireplace Renovation from Wood Burning to Gas

Before …

After …

This original wood burning fireplace had a raised marble hearth and surround.  The wood mantel had been faux finished to resemble green marble.  My clients wanted a gas insert and a cleaner, more modern silhouette that would fit the scale of the room better.  A flush slate hearth helps to make the room more spacious and the smaller brick slate surround keep the look more contemporary. The simple wood mantel was custom made and finished to match the wood floors.  Adding two new sconces completes the look and repeats the black finish of the gas insert.

Foyer Transformation

This foyer was fine but a little boring.  It was given some much needed drama by stenciling the walls and painting the doors a gray/black. A stencil was used to add some much needed texture and pattern to this foyer. It now has personality and is a great introduction to the rest of the home.
