Country log home fire pit and lounge area

This country cottage’s exterior was refreshed by replacing rustic log railings with clear glass. This keeps the site lines open to view the water and beyond. The propane fire pit was custom made and the furnishings selected for comfort and ease of maintenance.

This backyard was a blank slate and it was completed in three phases. The first phase included the swimming pool, the stone surround, the gas fire pit and the landscaping. The second saw the waterfall, hot tub and corner shed, completed.  The final phase was the addition of a gazebo patio and a low deck leading from the home to the pool area.

A few photos of the backyard showcase the seating area surrounding the gas fire pit, the perfect spot on a cool summer evening.   The addition of the waterfall helps to soften any surrounding noise and lends some tranquility to the space.

The curved deck is made of composite wood with three screens made of cedar. Each screen serves a purpose, one in front of the hot tub for privacy and wind protection, one at side of the house to hide the pool equipment and one surrounding the BBQ area.  The concrete stone patio where the dining gazebo is, completes this ‘cottage in the city’ backyard.
