Country House Dream Bath

And for the last instalment of my Dream Home series, this is my Country House Dream Bath.   It would be so absolutely dreamy to have all this!

feel good blue

First off, I have to include, Mr. Steam…I mean once, you have it in one house, you’d have to have it in every house thereafter…right?   Click on the link below to check out their newest video showcasing their steam shower.

The sleek  little control panel on the wall is as easy as your smart phone to operate.  It features temperature controls, duration, aromatherapy, chromatherapy and music, which are all hidden until needed.  It’s also available in both black and white.  The iSteam steamheads are design to match and are cool to the touch.  And there is even an iGenie ,which is an optional molded wireless control which remotely preheats the steam shower from up to 100 feet away.

As I mentioned in my City House Dream Bath post, be sure to visit their website to see the full range of products and accessories, including towel warmers and shower seats.   The interactive planner where you can pick and choose your accessories is great to use and they even have some at home spa treatment recipes you can try.

And I’ve been drooling over the Cabrits bath from Victoria + Albert ever since I saw it.  It’s elegant and organic all at once, its really pure perfection.  Contoured to fit your body but as you can see below, two can fit as well!

Picture 291

This bath, as are all Victoria + Albert baths, is made from Englishcast, which is a finely ground volcanic limestone mixed with resin. This allows each tub to be made from one piece, hand finished, warm to the touch with excellent insulation properties.  It has a naturally white, gloss finish with excellent stain resistance and it is incredibly strong.   As it is a solid material, internal scratches simply polish out and it’s even drillable for plumbing considerations. Together with these gorgeous matching Cabritis 55 vessel basins, the bath is almost complete.

Of course, we still need faucets, so I’m going with this beauty from Barber Wilsons Co Ltd, with the Regency china lever handle in the weathered bronze finish, just like the kitchen.

The finishing touch is always the hardware and again, looking at Du Verre Hardware.

I would choose the lovely Lotus knobs, in the oil rubbed bronze finish to go with the gorgeous faucets.

Country House Dream Kitchen

Now, for the Country House Dream Kitchen.  Keep in mind, that I have a pine log home in the country and that is where I’m picturing this kitchen.

Poggenpohl logo (with transparency)

So to offset all the wood that is in the home, I would choose a white bright kitchen.  This traditional one from Poggenpohl would be perfect in that setting, I’m loving all the glass cabinet fronts and yes, I would etch them so you couldn’t see the mess inside.  I would also add some open shelving to help break up all the cabinetry.

Silestone Transparent

And on top of all these beautiful cabinetry. I would be all over this new colour in Silestone’s Nebula series, Lyra.  It looks just like marble but without all the upkeep and in the suede finish it would be just perfect.

And then on the island I would add some Cygnus, also in a suede finish, to bring in a little more coolness to all the orangey/yellow pine.

Cygnus2

Isn’t it beautiful in the suede finish below?

Next off, one of these induction cooktops for when I have to actually cook.  This baby cleans up easily and only heats when there is a pot on it.  So cool and with the 36″ model you have plenty of elements for when the entire family comes over (for me that is 26!!!)

Next up would be two of these beautiful refrigerators, because we go through lots of food and drinks up there and it’s my dream….so I want TWO!

Now for some other cooking love, how about one of these combi-steam ovens from Miele.  Convention, steam and a combination of both if you want.  I think a turkey would be cooked to perfection in one of these!

DGC

And also a must have, especially with all the over night guests up there, a built in coffee system. But I have to admit I’d be using it for tea lattes and hot chocolates.

Whole_Bean

And for the preparation and clean up, I would be all over Blanco’s fireclay farm house apron sink.

I would be topping this off with the 1010 kitchen bridge faucet from Barber Wilsons and Co Ltd. in the Regent style in a beautiful weathered bronze finish.

And of course, the last little detail is the hardware.  And DuVerre Hardware does not disappoint.

I am all over these ones, the Lotus from designer, William Harvey, yet again.

C-WHL08-ORB Elegant and organic they are the perfect thing for a sophisticated country house, and in the oil rubbed bronze finish, these handles and knobs would be perfection!

So there you have it my Country House Dream Kitchen, when are you coming over?

City House Dream Bath

Today I’m featuring what would be included in my dream city bathroom, courtesy of some of the wonderful Blogtour NYC sponsors.

First up this dream bathroom would have to include isteam, from Mr. Steam. I don’t know how I would ever leave the bathroom again, but I’d like to certainly give it a try.

Ahh, can you just imagine how relaxed you would feel after a steam shower.

Be sure to visit their website to see the full range of products and accessories, including towel warmers and shower seats.   The interactive planner where you can pick and choose your accessories is great to use and they even have some at home spa treatment recipes you can try.

And on the days, you want a leisurely soak I’m thinking this pure gorgeousness from Victoria + Albert would be the perfect compliment.

This is the Ravello tub made out of Englishcast (Quarrycast for the rest of the world outside of North America).  Englishcast is made from finely ground volcanic limestone mixed with resin. It is made out of one piece, hand finished and warm to the touch and keeps it’s warmth due to it’s high insulation properties.  It has a naturally white, gloss finish with excellent stain resistance and it is incredibly strong.   As it is a solid material throughout, internal scratches just simply polish out and it is even drillable for plumbing considerations.  The exterior can even be painted, if desired, after purchase.

The photo above even shows the matching Ravello 60 vessel basins.  A certainly winning combination.

And just to mix it up a bit I would use traditional styled fixtures from Barber Wilsons and Co Ltd.

Barber Wilsons is the oldest family owned, independent manufacturing of water fittings in the UK.  They have offered classic and outstanding quality for over 100 years.

The fittings are each reproduced using a portfolio of drawings from the early 19th century.  They may look the same on the outside as 100 years ago but on the inside they have used modern materials and components. This has allowed them to blend traditional craftmanship and contemporary manufacturing which in turn gives their fixtures elegance, quality and authentic styling.

GA4309RTa[1]

MC4310

This one above in the Mastercraft style below would be my choice in the nickel finish for the bath tub.

And the final piece of luxury would be this little piece of jewelery by Du Verre designer William Harvey.

This is the Arroyo collection and it is pure luxury.  The silhouette mimics man made water channels, which the finishing touch in a luxury bathroom. Available in satin nickel it is the icing on the cake!

And there you have it my City House Dream Bath!

Next up, the Country House Dream Kitchen!

City House Dream Kitchen

After receiving the wonderful news about Blogtour NYC, I was checking out the websites of all the sponsors and was amazed by all the beauty I saw.

Then the creative juices got flowing and I thought wow, I could so see my dream kitchen and my dream bath being done with all this gorgeousness.

So here’s my –

City House Dream Kitchen

Starting off first with function,  from Miele.  They have just announced their Brillant White Plus Series for their appliances.  In sleek white glass, these appliances will dazzle! I’ll take the refrigerator, dishwasher and steam oven, please and thank you.

Hubby wants one of these plate and cup warmer drawers as he likes his food “HOT”.  Wouldn’t this be perfect over the holidays when you’re trying to keep everything warm for the hoard. Or for warming up your cup before making your tea or coffee (that would make me very happy, that and the fact that it comes in brillant white too, as seen above under the Miele coffee system).

Last but definitely not least, I would be all over this appliance below.

I mean, how can you resist their wine storage unit? I mean it holds 102 bottles and has three different cooling zones. You had me at the 102 bottles 🙂  The trick would be keeping it full!

Next up cabinetry.  And these beauties from Poggenpohl caught my eye. They are sleek and stylish but oh so warm.

And to top off the cabinetry, how about some Silestone?  Made from natural quartz, Silestone is durable, hygienic and very resilient.
Merope- Elegant and Sophisticated browns, a unique creation.

From their new Nebula series, I am particularly smitten with this colour, Merope.  Loving that it reads as a solid gray/brown at a distance, but when viewed up close, it has lovely veining in it.  I definitely would be doing it in the suede  finish.

Now, on to a sink and faucet.  For the sink there was this little lovely from Blanco.

It’s a Silgranit sink from the Performa Cascade series.  It would be perfect as a sleek undermount with the Silestone counters.  Durable, scratch resistant, non fading colour and easy to clean..what more can you ask for from a sink?  They even have an app to help you choose the perfect colour to go with your counter material.  And it just so happens, that the faucet in the above photo is the one I would choose as well.

It’s the brand new and gorgeous, Culina Semi Professional.  It has a closed coil to keep cleaning simple and to give it a sleeker look and a magnetic spray holder so that it stays in place when not in use.

Now for a little piece of sparkle for the cabinetry.  These are definitely pretty enough to be classified as jewellery. Hard to believe they are made with recycled aluminium, thus making them eco friendly as well as beautiful! Now I’d just have to decide which finish I would go with,
the satin brass

or the satin nickel.

Decisions, decisions…..
So there you have the makings of my City House Dream Kitchen.
Stay tuned for the City House Dream Bath, not to mention the Country Home Dream Bath and Kitchen.

And if you are looking for inspiration be sure to check out the National Kitchen and Bath Association’s website.  There are tons of photos of different styles of kitchens and baths to put you on exactly the right path.
