Here are some photos of my design work. I believe any space can be made beautiful, warm and comfortable. Here are some examples. Please click on any image to expand it.
This original wood burning fireplace had a raised marble hearth and surround. The wood mantel had been faux finished to resemble green marble. My clients wanted a gas insert and a cleaner, more modern silhouette that would fit the scale of the room better. A flush slate hearth helps to make the room more spacious and the smaller brick slate surround keep the look more contemporary. The simple wood mantel was custom made and finished to match the wood floors. Adding two new sconces completes the look and repeats the black finish of the gas insert.
Before, this powder room was large and uninspiring. To transform it, we added a 1920s mahogany dresser , which was customized into a vanity by adding a sink and faucet. By also using wallpaper, paint, a new light fixture and accessories this powder room quickly became spectacular.
This 17 year old kitchen was completely rebuilt. The ceiling was raised to accomodate much needed storage with higher cabinets and to add recessed lighting. The porcelain tile was installed in the kitchen as well as in the adjoining hallway and powder room.
With a new floor plan, granite countertops, tile backsplash, lighting fixtures and new appliances this kitchen has gone from tired to fabulous!
This foyer was fine but a little boring. It was given some much needed drama by stenciling the walls and painting the doors a gray/black.
A stencil was used to add some much needed texture and pattern to this foyer. It now has personality and is a great introduction to the rest of the home.
Builder standard finishes were upgraded to include customized cabinets, marble backsplash, granite countertops, stainless appliances, a built in microwave, undermount stainless sink, high end faucet, customized lighting plan and lighting fixtures to bring warmth, comfort and style into this kitchen.
This backyard was a blank slate, the swimming pool, the stone surround and the landscaping were completed first. The second phase included the waterfall, hot tub and corner shed, to make this backyard feel like a resort without the commute. The last phase will include the addition of a gazebo patio and a low deck leading from the home to the pool area.
A few more photos of the backyard showcasing the seating area which surrounds a gas firepit for cosy warmth on a cool summer evening. The addition of the waterfall helps to soften any surrounding noise and lends some tranquility to the space.
This deck completes the backyard transformation that was started four years ago. It is made of composite wood as it curves easier than cedar would have. Three screens were added, one in front of the hot tub, one at side of the house to hide the pool equipment and one surrounds the BBQ area. A stone patio was also added to the left of the deck for dining under the gazebo.
This cottage was completely renovated from top to bottom. The before picture shows how the kitchen was completely transformed, by removing a wall between the kitchen and eating area and by adding a counter top seating area. A doorway was also removed in the kitchen to add much needed storage space.
The cottage exterior was also transformed with a large screened in porch, side deck, new sliding door, landscaping and new siding.
By removing the area rug and some of the accessories - this space feels larger and cleaner and no money was spent!
This home's entrance was decluttered and the front door was painted and a large rectangular mirror was added to help enlarge the area.
These rooms were also de-cluttered. Mirrors and decorative accessories were then added to highlight the lovely details of this home. This home was sold within one week after being listed for sale.
This beautiful home was dressed for the holidays, starting with a swag on the lamp post. It continued on the railings in front of the french doors and finished with a gorgeous urn at the front door together with a coordinating wreath.
Here's a close up of the holiday urn and the railing garland. All set for holiday visitors.
This master bedroom was bright but dull. It was brought to life with wallpaper, paint, lighting, drapes, linens and accessories.
